Come and find us

Pull up a chair. The kettle's already on.

We're on the corner where the high street bends toward the old market square — look for the steamed-up window and the smell of bread two doors down. No need to book a table; just walk in.

Best time to come

Mornings, hands down — that's when the shelves are full and the coffee is freshest. Saturday before noon is our happiest hour.

Reserve a loaf

Our better loaves often sell out by mid-morning. If there's one you can't go without, holding it back is simple:

  1. Email us by the evening before.
  2. Tell us the loaf and roughly when you'll come.
  3. We'll set it aside with your name until midday.

No deposit, no fuss — just turn up and it's waiting at the counter.

A few things people often ask

Do you take bookings for tables?

We keep it walk-in only. The room is small and we like it that way — there's almost always a seat if you don't mind waiting five minutes with a coffee in hand.

Is there anything for gluten-free or vegan diets?

Yes. Our seeded rye is vegan, the salted chocolate cookie is made without gluten, and the kitchen can usually point you to something good. Just ask at the counter — we're happy to talk you through it.

Can I order a cake for a birthday?

We do simple, generous celebration cakes to order with about a week's notice. Drop us an email with the date and roughly what you're after, and we'll take it from there.

What happens to bread that doesn't sell?

Very little goes to waste. Day-old loaves are sold off at the end of service, and anything left after that goes to a community kitchen nearby rather than the bin.
